Aid workers and volunteers of the Iranian Red Crescent conducted 2,016 relief operations between March 15 and 24, including 1,003 traffic accidents. The other operations were related to weather, mountain and water incidents, according to Vahid Salimi, the spokesman for the Society’s Nowruz campaigns.
In total, the Red Crescent provided relief services to 34,152 people during the given period, whom 2,439 people were provided with emergency shelter.
In addition, 824 persons were transported to medical centers by aid workers.
They also delivered first aid to 13,156 individuals on site.
IRCS volunteers and youth members also tested 13,361 people for diabetes and blood pressure.
The Nowruz campaigns of the Iranian Red Crescent will run until 3 April.
