The flash flood began on Saturday, May 28, after torrential rains fell in the south and south-east of the province. In a village in Esfarayen County, a family surrounded by inundation was rescued by Red Crescent rescuers.
Aid workers have also pumped water from homes.
The flood killed a man a woman onboard a tractor in the village of Golyan, Shirvan County.
Furthermore, two people lost their lives due to the flooding in Farouj County.
The flood resulted in the loss of water, electricity and gas in the village of Ostad, Farouj County, hitting 12 vehicles.
The flood has impacted 400 people in the south and south-east of the province.
The Red Crescent has deployed more than 80 aid workers and rescuers in the affected regions, according to Abolfazl Mohebban, the Managing director of the North Khorasan Red Crescent provincial branch.
