Meetings of IRCS Representatives in Jeddah
JEDDAH, 25 July 2023 (IRCS) - Dr. Yaghoub Soleimani, the IRCS Secretary General, and Raziyeh Alishvandi, IRCS Under Secretary General for International Affairs and International Humanitarian Law Division, taken part in the 5th consultation meeting between ICIC and RC/RC Societies in OIC members states in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, met with officials of some National Societies.
The heads of the Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Sudan Red Crescent Societies met the IRCS representatives.Mr Soleimani and Miss Alishvandi also met with the officials of Turkey, Oman, Iraq and Afghanistan Societies.
The topics discussed during these meetings were mainly related to relief services and international humanitarian aid.
IRCS officials also met with Mr. Miguel Villarroel Sierraalta, Vice-President of the International Federation.
The head of the Pakistan Red Crescent expressed his gratitude for the aid that was sent to those affected by the floods in Pakistan.
In addition, the head of the Sudan Red Crescent suggested the signing of a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation between Iran and Sudan Societies.
During his meeting with the head of the Saudi Red Crescent, Mr. Soleimani appreciated the cooperation with IRCS medical personnel during the Hajj ceremonies.
