According to the IRCS Relief and Rescue Organization, between August 18-25, 7,949 Arbaeen pilgrims have been provided with relief and treatment services by the Iranian Red Crescent.
The pilgrims are traveling to Iraq to mark the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam.
The Iranian pilgrims take part in Arbaeen's walk which begins from the cities of the country and continues to the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala in Iraq.
2,218 pilgrims received treatment services at the Red Crescent posts, 59 other people were transported to medical centers and 1,039 pilgrims provided with emergency accommodation.
