The incident resulted in the death of 19 people and the injury of 11 others. Besides the seven injured Iranian pilgrims, 12 of them lost their lives in this accident.

Iraqi and Afghan nationals also suffered from this incident.

The Iranian Red Crescent post in Iraq dispatched 30 aid workers, a bus ambulance and four ambulances to the hospital of Balad city where the Iranian pilgrims were admitted and then arranged for them to be transported to the country.
