IRCS Ready to send relief teams to Morocco ‎

TEHRAN, 9 September 2023 (IRCS) – The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) ‎‎declared its readiness to send medical and relief teams to assist humanitarian operation in Morocco after a 6.8-magnitude earthquake killed and injured hundreds people in the country late Friday, September 8.

The full message of Dr Pirhossein Kolivand, the IRCS President, to Mr Kaddour Kharbouch, Vice- President of Moroccan Red Crescent Society, reads as follows:

Dear Mr. Vice-President,

The Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRCS) presents its compliments to you and all your esteemed staff and volunteers of the Moroccan Red Crescent Society.

With great sorrow, I have learnt about the destructive earthquake in 77 kilometers of Marrakesh city located at western-south of Morocco country which unfortunately caused to the death and injuries of many people.

In this hard situation, on behalf of the IRCS and myself, I would like to express my condolence to you, your colleagues in the Moroccan Red Crescent and earthquake affected people and convey our sympathy with those lost loved ones.

The IRCS is ready to send the medical and relief teams to assist humanitarian operation in Morocco.

I wish you and your colleagues all the very best in your humanitarian endeavors.
