The meeting focused on expanding educational and promotional cooperation in international humanitarian law.
Mr. Kolivand mentioned that there are approximately 5 million Afghan immigrants in Iran who receive assistance from the government and the Red Crescent in terms of healthcare and education.
He stated that the Iranian Red Crescent requires additional support from the ICRC for this matter.
Mr. Kolivand also extended an invitation to the ICRC president to visit the Iranian Red Crescent.
Ms Spoljaric expressed her gratitude towards the Iranian Red Crescent for their efforts in fostering collaborative cooperation between the two organizations. She further stressed that the ICRC will thoroughly assess budgetary issues in order to provide support for the commendable humanitarian endeavors of the Iranian Red Crescent.
