Iranian Red Crescent ready to support Nepal

TEHRAN, 5 November 2023 (IRCS) – After the recent earthquake in Nepal, the Iranian Red Crescent is prepared to dispatch medical and relief teams to the country to support humanitarian efforts.

Dr Pirhossein Kolivand, the President of the IRCS, expressed his condolences to Prof. Sudarshan Prasad, the Chairperson of the Nepal Red Cross Society, and stated that the Society is prepared to assist the individuals affected by the 6.4-magnitude earthquake in Jajarkot, which resulted in the loss of over 150 lives.

The Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRCS) presents its compliments to you and all your esteemed staff and volunteers of the Nepal Red Cross Society.

With great sorrow, I have learnt about the occurrence of destructive earthquake in city of Jajarkot located at northeast of Nepal which unfortunately caused to the death of at least 140 people and injured of Dozens in Nepal.

In this hard situation, on behalf of the IRCS and myself, I would like to express my condolence to you, your colleagues in the Nepal Red Cross and earthquake affected people and also convey our sympathy with the families of victims.

The IRCS is ready to send the IRCS medical and relief teams to assist humanitarian operation in Nepal.

I wish you and your colleagues all the very best in your humanitarian endeavors.
