Following airstrikes, IRCS seeks ICRC support and condemnation of attacks on medical and civilian centers
TEHRAN, 03 March 2026 (IRCS) - Vincent Cassard, Head of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Iran met with Pir Hossein Kolivand, President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) on 3 March 2026, discussing humanitarian issues following the US-Israel airstrikes on Iran.
In this meeting held in the Peace Building of the IRCS, Mr. Kolivand emphasized, ICRC, in addition to condemnation of the attacks to schools, hospitals and the Red Crescent branches, do legal follow-up from humanitarian and legal institution.
“We should boost our readiness in various levels. We have provided a list of damages, hoping to enjoy the Committee’s assistance in order to render effective relief to people. We have very well-trained personnel who are currently serving and have saved many people from certain death so far,” noted Mr. Kolivand.
The President of the IRCS appreciated Mr. Cassard for being in the IRCS headquarters, saying that the main request of the Iranian Red Crescent is the committee’s strong condemnation of the attack on medical and civilian centers, and a commitment to pursue legal action with full force.
