Helal-e Iran Textile Industries affiliated to the Iranian Red Crescent has begun producing three-layer protective masks to fight the coronavirus spread in the country. The company plans to increase the daily production of this type of mask to 10,000. The company has received licenses to produce this type of mask from the Ministry of Health, according to Hassan Safariyeh, Managing Director of the Iranian Red Crescent’s Medical Procurement Organisation. The three-layer mask is used to protect people against dust particles and viral contamination and to prevent lung infections and communicable diseases. The Iranian Red Crescent has also launched a production line to produce antiseptic lotion for hand and surfaces according to the formulation recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). The lotion is produced at Helal-e Iran Medical Devices Company and Soha Pharma Company of the Iranian Red Crescent with a daily capacity of 10,000 liters.
