IRCS and ARCS sign MoU to boost humanitarian and relief cooperation
Yerevan, 28 October 2025 (IRCS) – The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) and ‎the Armenian Red Cross Society (ARCS) have signed a Memorandum of ‎Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in relief operations and ‎humanitarian education.‎
The MoU was signed by Pir Hossein Kolivand, President of the IRCS, and Davit Nersisyan, President of the ARCS. It focuses on cooperation in relief, rescue, and logistics during crises and natural disasters; establishing a medical center in Armenia; exchanging experiences and training in International Humanitarian Law; exchanging pharmaceutical and textile products during emergencies; and enhancing youth participation and volunteer activities in both societies. “The Iranian Red Crescent is ready to cooperate with humanitarian institutions around the world. This MoU marks an effective step toward improving crisis response capabilities and reinforcing solidarity among the nations of the region,” said Pir Hossein Kolivand, President of the IRCS, during the signing ceremony. Davit Nersisyan, President of the ARCS, stated: “Cooperation with the Iranian Red Crescent provides a valuable opportunity for experience sharing, improving relief capacities, and expanding friendly relations between the two nations.” The MoU will remain valid for five years and may be extended upon mutual agreement between the two societies.
