The full message of Pir Hossein Kolivand reads as follows:   Your presence in the numerous activities of the Iranian Red Crescent Society is not merely a voluntary act of collaboration with this public-benefit institution, but rather the fulfillment of a comforting mission of altruism that is repeatedly emphasized throughout the tenets of the Divine Religion of Islam and the pages of the authentic Iranian culture. You, as noble human beings - determined, benevolent, and generous - are sincere actors in playing this godly role, choosing proximity to the Almighty through volunteerism as a path leading to the relief and alleviation of the suffering of your fellow human beings. Every step you take to unravel the difficulties of God's servants during both emergencies and non-emergency times represents a “significant participation” in solving society’s problems. This participation begins with your most important expertise -kindness- and continues by planting seeds of hope and eagerness for life across the lands of our country. For this reason, the path of volunteering has no end, and from today into the future, this path will become even more beautiful with your brilliance. With the joining of new volunteers to this large community, as in the past, nothing is impossible for us. On the occasion of “International Volunteer Day,” I extend my sincerest congratulations to more than three and a half million Red Crescent volunteers in Iran - whether in relief and rescue, health and treatment, philanthropists, endowers, or young volunteers - and I pray to the God Almighty for each of you to have health and dignity in all fields of life and work.
