On the morning of Friday, December 19, our dedicated rescuer, while participating as a member of a relief team in a mission to save the occupants of a car trapped in floodwaters, lost his own life.
The IRCS is deeply saddened by this tragic incident. IRCS President Pir Hossein Kolivand extended his condolences, stating: “This gentle rescuer of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, through his selfless act, once again demonstrated the greatness of spirit and inner purity of the Red Crescent's aid workers and rescuers.”
In recent days, several Iranian provinces, including the southern province of Fars, have been hit by torrential rains and flooding, resulting in the deaths of two children in Fars and Hormozgan provinces, as well as a man reported missing in Khuzestan.
