The message was sent to Pir Hossein Kolivand, the President of the IRCSY, Meysam Afshar, the Secretary General of the IRCS and Hojjat al-Islam Abdul Hossein Moezzi, the representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in the IRCS. It reads as follows:
Happy National Day to you and the people of Iran
On the occasion of the National Day on the 11 February, the Malaysian Red Crescent extends to you our very best wishes. May the bonds of cooperation and solidarity among our National Societies continue to grow in strength as we work together in the service of humanity. May we also continue to strengthen our sense of unity to serve the populations who are in need of our services.
We offer our deepest condolences and solidarity regarding the tragic killing of your staff member during the line of duty in Gilan Province. Their dedication and sacrifice in the service of humanity are profoundly respected. The protection of humanitarian personnel has emerged as one of the most urgent priorities, and collectively in the Movement, we must ensure that such tragedies do not happen and our humanitarian personnel are adequately protected.
We also thank the Iranian Red Crescent Society for your ongoing work in global humanitarian action and crisis response, especially in support of other National Societies. Your efforts in addressing emergencies worldwide reflect the dedication of your volunteers and personnel and solidarity between National Societies.
I would like to request for an opportunity to schedule a call with you at a mutually convenient time to further exchange views and explore opportunities for continued collaboration in serving those most in need.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz
National Chairperson
