The airstrike occurred in early on Friday, 27 March 2026, leaving at least 20 individuals dead.
Pir Hossein Kolivand, President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, issued a message expressing his condolences following the incident.
“Yesterday, as soon as I heard this heartbreaking news, I immediately made my way to the city of Qom and to the site of the incident. What I witnessed there was not merely the destruction of a few homes; it was a stark image of the peak of cruelty, oppression, and savagery of the accursed Zionist–American regime. Among the rubble were traces of lives left unfinished and the bodies of innocent people who had been taken unjustly, creating scenes that would pain the heart of any free‑spirited human being,” wrote Mr. Kolivand in the message.
“Witnessing these scenes, although it places a heavy sorrow upon the heart, carries a clear truth deep within this pain: these pure bloods will not be silenced; rather, they will become a torch lighting the path that guides us toward steadfastness and resistance. The injustice suffered by these children and our dear compatriots has strengthened our resolve—more firmly than ever—to fulfill our duty,” he added.
President of the IRCS also said in his message that these heart‑rending scenes lead us toward a deeper unity and a stronger, more unyielding resolve. We stand beside the bereaved families and will do everything in our power to pursue justice for these dear martyrs.
“Iran, today as always, stands as a symbol of resistance and dignity; and we, with hearts full of sorrow yet with steadfast determination, will not rest until justice is realized and the blood of the oppressed is honored,” Dr. Kolivand concluded in his message.
