The shipment includes blankets, water containers, cooking utensils, tarpaulins, hygiene kits, solar lamps, buckets, and mattresses to help meet basic needs and improve living conditions. In addition, the ICRC has provided 200 electricity generators and 100 water pumps. Nearly two weeks ago, ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric issued a statement on the hostilities in the Middle East following the airstrikes on Iran.  Prior to this statement, and following an airstrike on an Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) relief warehouse in Bushehr County on the morning of Friday, April 3, the President of the IRCS formally urged the President of the ICRC to take effective measures to protect humanitarian personnel, facilities, and assets.
