Iranian Red Crescent President to Share Wartime Relief Expertise in Geneva
TEHRAN, 25 May 2026 (IRCS) – The President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, at the invitation of the IFRC, will share the IRCS’s experiences during the country’s two recent wars on his visit to Geneva.
Pir Hossein Kolivand will travel to the headquarters of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Geneva, Switzerland, from 26 to 29 May for a four-day visit. During the trip, he will meet with officials from the IFRC and ICRC to discuss relief operation experiences and share the capabilities and expertise of the Iranian Red Crescent Society during the two wars. The visit aims to strengthen humanitarian diplomacy, develop strategic cooperation, and transfer the field experiences the IRCS gained during the wars. In addition, Mr. Kolivand is scheduled to hold talks with IFRC officials on developing a joint roadmap for long-term cooperation and enhancing the Society’s role in regional and international projects. Other objectives of the visit include expanding cooperation in training, the production of relief and medical supplies, the exchange of trainers and instructors, and broader educational collaboration.
