Dr. Pir-Hossein Kolivand urged the IFRC to leverage its legal influence to remove obstacles hindering relief efforts and the procurement of critical medical supplies for patients in Iran.
During his meeting with more than 30 senior IFRC officials, the IRCS President presented visual evidence of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) violations and war crimes committed against Iranian aid workers and civilians.
He called upon international institutions to take decisive action and formally condemn the strikes on Iran.
Referring to the killing of young lives during the United States and Israeli attacks—specifically citing the students of the Shajareh-Tayyebeh School in Minab—he recounted the profound suffering of Iranian aid workers and the civilian population.
Dr. Kolivand described the deliberate targeting of aid workers and relief equipment as one of the most tragic aspects of these crimes. He noted that Iranian Red Crescent helicopters, ambulances, and rescue vehicles were targeted during the airstrikes, resulting in the martyrdom of several volunteers.
In response, IFRC officials emphasized the necessity of increasing contributions, expanding humanitarian cooperation, and supporting the relief missions of the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
They further praised the operational capabilities, field preparedness, and bravery of the IRCS aid workers, volunteers, and youth members, describing the Society’s performance and resilience under wartime conditions as extraordinary.
