During these meetings, Pir Hossein Kolivand, President of the IRCS, emphasized the necessity of expanding cooperation and implementing bilateral humanitarian projects between the Iranian Red Crescent and international institutions.
For her part, Gemma Connell, Officer-in-Charge of OCHA’s Humanitarian Sector Division, expressed appreciation to the IRCS President for providing reports and information regarding violations of International Humanitarian Law.
She added that the documentation provided by the Iranian Red Crescent had made a significant impact on officials within the organization.
Ms. Connell also praised the operations, dedication, and self-sacrifice of Iranian Red Crescent aid workers during the 40-day war, describing the Society’s role in providing relief as both invaluable and effective, while calling for further development of cooperation between the IRCS and the UN.
