“Mecca tragic incident that resulted in the death and injury of a large number of Hajj pilgrims caused intense pain and sorrow amongst Muslims,” noted Dr. Seyed Amir Mohsen Ziaee, President of the Iranian Red Crescent in a letter to Dr. Seyed Ali Mar’ashi, Head of Iranian Red Crescent's Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Centre. “I am sure all staff and volunteers of IRCS Medical Centre in Mecca make all their maximum efforts in order to undertake humanitarian missions to provide best medical services to the injured,”
A number of Iranian pilgrims killed and some are still missing in the construction crane incident in Mecca city September 11. Most of the injured are transferred to Red Crescent Medical Centre in Mecca to get the medical services directly from the Iranian medical teams after a construction crane fell on Friday afternoon on the Masjid Al-Haram (The Holy Mosque) in Mecca. The head of Saudi Arabia's civil defense said strong winds and heavy rains had caused the collapse.
