Dr. Seyed Amir Mohsen Ziaee met with Mr. Javier Senent Garcia, President of the Spanish Red Cross in Tehran on 17 April 2016. He pointed out that the Iranian and Spanish nations have very long relationships with each other and this relationship has always been associated with mutual understanding and respect for each other.  "This visit is a good opportunity for the two national societies of Iran and Spain, as two strong Societies at international level to build stronger relationship," mentioned Dr. Ziaee in this meeting with his Spanish counterpart.  Dr. Ziaee stated that the Iranian Red Crescent is very active in the international arena and together with the Spanish Red Cross are as members in the governing board of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). He also said that the Iranian Red Crescent's services are more focused on the field of health services in the international arena and we cooperate with the International Federation and other National Societies in this regard.  In this meeting, Mr. Javier Senent Garcia also stressed on the fact that the Iranian Red Crescent is very active in the international arena and said that facilities, potentialities and interests in common between the Spanish Red Cross and the Iranian Red Crescent could be grounds for expansion of cooperation between the two Societies at the international level.  "Spanish Red Cross is very interested and eager to expand cooperation with the Iranian Red Crescent Society especially in the field of volunteers," he also mentioned. Dr. Seyed Amir Mohsen Ziaee, and Mr. Javier Senent Garcia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 19 April to boost closer cooperation.
