This year, about 4,500 operational forces of the Red Crescent Society of Iran are involved in implementing national winter relief and rescue plan. One of the objectives of this plan is to reduce the time of reaching the scene of accidents, increase the speed of relief and rescue provision in various traffic and non-traffic accidents and reduce the traffic-related fatalities damage caused by accidents in the outskirts of the cities. Morteza Salimi, head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society's relief and rescue organization, said that services of national relief and rescue plan in winter of this year include the dispatch of operational teams to provide relief and rescue services to traffic accident victims in the cities and on roads in the outskirts of the cities, the recovery and rescue of the injured trapped in vehicles damaged by accidents, provision of outpatient first aid services and cooperation with partner organizations such as the traffic police, the Iranian road maintenance and transportation organization and emergency organization.   This year, the number of fixed, interurban and mobile posts of the Iranian Red Crescent Society has grown by at least 5% for providing better services in national winter relief and rescue plan.
