Volunteer physicians join IRCS relief teams at airstrike sites
TEHRAN, 07 March 2026 (IRCS) - Volunteer physicians are working alongside Iranian Red Crescent aid workers around the clock at airstrike sites to enhance the speed and quality of medical services, the President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) said.
These physicians from Al‑Kafeel Charity are present at all Iranian Red Crescent operational headquarters across Tehran Province, with two specialist doctors on duty during each shift, ready to provide immediate medical services to the injured, Pir Hossein Kolivand added.
They provide outpatient treatment, suturing, wound dressing, and first aid to ensure that relief operations are carried out more quickly and effectively.
One physician, accompanied by four aid workers, is dispatched to the scene of an incident and returns to the operational headquarters after completing the mission.
