IRCS Young Volunteer Counselors Respond to More than 67,000 Mental Health Hotline Calls Amid Airstrikes
TEHRAN, 14 March 2026 (IRCS) - The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced that from February 28 to the morning of March 14, more than 1,000 young volunteer counselors of the IRCS responded to 67,460 calls through the 4030 hotline, where callers sought mental health support and guidance amid the U.S.–Israeli airstrikes.
These calls amounted to a total of 297,358 minutes (4,055 hours) of counseling and support.
According to the IRCS statement, so far, 42,914 civilian structures have sustained damage as a result of the airstrikes. Of these, 36,489 are residential units, including 10,000 in Tehran, and 6,179 commercial units.
