Following airstrikes on Iran over the past two weeks, which have led to rising medical and pharmaceutical needs in the country, the Russian government, in a humanitarian actuon, sent a consignment of medication to Iran that was delivered to the Iranian Red Crescent.

“This measure is a sign of solidarity and responsibility in challenging humanitarian conditions,” said Raziyeh Alishavandi, Under Secretary General for International Affairs and International Humanitarian Law at the Iranian Red Crescent Society.

“Humanitarian aid in times of crisis plays an important role in strengthening the response capacity of the health system and relief services, and the Russian government’s action in sending this consignment of medicines is a valuable step in supporting the people of Iran under the current circumstances,” Alishavandi noted.

“The Iranian Red Crescent expresses its gratitude to the Russian people and government for this humanitarian action and assures that the medicines will be distributed among medical centers as soon as possible,” she added.
