Fiften urban and rural areas as well as mountainous arteries in 15 provinces have been affected by heavy rain in the the past 24 hours, according to the IRCS Relief and Rescue Organisation.

IRCS relief workers rendered relief services to 520 affected people in total. Red Crsecent teams also provided emergency sheltering for 73 people and 15 people were taken out of harm’s way.

In the southern province of Bushehr, Red Crescent teams rescued 40 people who were trapped in Kangan heights by heavy rain. Bushehr provincial Red Crescent branch sent a relief helicopter to save the affected people and transferred them to a safe place.

Furthermore, Relief workers pumped water out of 33 houses in the affected provinces and recovered 11 vehicles from flood. Tents, blanlets, ground sheets and plastic nylon have been distributed among the affected people and households.
