IRCS sends 110 tons humanitarian aid to Afghanistan
TEHRAN, 04 September 2025 (IRSC) - The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has dispatched over 100 tons of humanitarian aid to those affected by the earthquake in Afghanistan.
According to Babak Mahmoudi, Head of Relief and Rescue Organization at the IRCS, 50 tons of the shipment were sent by air, and the remaining 60 tons were transported by land.
The aid includes essential relief supplies such as clothing, rice, beans, blankets, and canned food.
A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan on Sunday, 31 August, resulting in more than 2,200 fatalities so far.
