Third Iranian Red Crescent aid worker martyred in U.S.-Israeli airstrike
ZANJAN, 31 March 2026 (IRCS) - Alireza Sohbatlou, a rescuer with the Iranian Red Crescent Society in Zanjan County, was martyred on Tuesday morning, 31 March, in a U.S.–Israeli airstrike on Zanjan’s Husseiniya Azam.
He is the third aid worker from the Iranian Red Crescent Society to be martyred in U.S.–Israeli airstrikes.
Alireza Sohbatlou, 36, had worked with the Iranian Red Crescent since 2011, first as an aid worker and later as a rescuer.
Previously, Hamidreza Jahanbakhsh and Somayeh Mir Abou Eshagh, two Iranian Red Crescent aid workers in Esfahan and Khansar (Esfahan Province), were martyred following U.S.–Israeli airstrikes on their counties.
