During the talks, Pirhossein Kolivand, the President of the IRCS, stressed the urgency of facilitating access to deliver humanitarian aid to children, women, the elderly, and other people in the Gaza Strip.

“All countries should collaborate to facilitate the entry of aid and relief teams to Gaza; they should help to reconstruct the medical centers in Gaza,” said Kolivand.

He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of Mirjana Spoljaric, the President of the ICRC, for issuing numerous and courageous statements on providing services to the people of Gaza .

For his part, Nicolas Von Arx, the Near and Middle East regional director for the ICRC, stated that an important part of the ICRC's mission is to promote compliance with humanitarian law and improve protection for civilians.

“We strive to prioritize these core issues in discussions between the parties to the conflict,” added Von Arx.

He also expressed appreciation for the support of Mr. Kolivand in sending humanitarian aid to civilians and people besieged in the Gaza Strip.
