In his speech, Dr. Pir Hossein Kolivand expressed appreciation on behalf of the Iranian people and officials to Iraqi authorities for their management of the Arbaeen ceremonies and hospitality toward Iranian pilgrims.
He added, “Service management for pilgrims during the great Arbaeen procession of Imam Hossein (AS) should encompass five areas: safety and security, health and medical services, infrastructure and logistics, information and communication, and mass gathering crisis management,”
The IRCS president noted that 8,000 operational volunteers providing relief and medical treatment had been dispatched to Iraq. He stated, “Approximately 1,800 Iranian Red Crescent medical volunteers equipped with therapeutic backpacks are serving pilgrims along the route from Najaf to Karbala.”
