IRCS President Holds Bilateral Meetings with European Red Cross Representatives in Geneva
GENEVA, 28 May 2026 (IRCS) – Representatives from the national Red Cross Societies of Norway, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Italy, currently based at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) headquarters, convened with the President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS).
These separate bilateral sessions focused on strengthening joint cooperation and exploring avenues for collaboration.
Discussions encompassed the capabilities and capacities of the IRCS, the sharing of expertise, and the development of bilateral cooperation, all addressed during separate working sessions.
Dr. Pir Hossein Kolivand, President of the IRCS, highlighted instances of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) violations during the airstrikes on Iran.
He emphasized the critical need for the international community to uphold humanitarian principles and adhere strictly to IHL.
