IRCS Condemns Violations of Humanitarian Law in Letters to ‎International Bodies

TEHRAN, 23 April 2026 (IRCS) - In formal letters sent to the ‎International Criminal Court (ICC), the International Committee of the ‎Red Cross (ICRC), and other international institutions, the Iranian Red ‎Crescent Society (IRCS) has documented and protested a series of actions ‎it says violate international humanitarian law during the airstrikes ‎against Iran and IRCS.‎

In joint letters addressed to the International Criminal Court (ICC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and other relevant institutions, a series of measures demonstrating clear violations of the principles of international humanitarian law during the airstrikes and the imposed war against Iran were formally documented and protested.

These letters, signed by Pir Hossein Kolivand, President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) and the National Committee for Humanitarian Law (NCHL), refer to the closure of the Iranian Red Crescent Society Hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates; the forced evacuation of its staff; the freezing of the hospital’s bank accounts; and the targeting and seizure of the Iranian container ship Touska, among other issues.
