Iranian Red Crescent Services for Arbaeen Pilgrims

TEHRAN (IRCS) – The Iranian Red Crescent continues to provide relief and treatment services to Arbaeen pilgrims in Iran and Iraq.

To date, the Iranian Red Crescent has provided relief services to more than 8,700 Arbaeen pilgrims in the routes along the country and the joint borders with Iraq. Among them, more than 8,460 people were housed in three temporary border camps.

The IRCS has deployed 4,600 relief workers and rescuers to assist pilgrims, according to IRC President Pir Hossein Kolivand.

There are also 574 posts serving pilgrims along the routes.

The Red Crescent dispatched 3,000 health forces to Iraq and deployed them to 39 Society medical posts.

Furthermore, 19 helicopters are on standby, including four at the borders, serving the pilgrims.
