From December 15 to 17, the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) teams responded to recent severe weather across Hormozgan, Bushehr, Fars, Kerman, Yazd, Isfahan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, South Khorasan, Khuzestan, Mazandaran, Zanjan, Qazvin, Ardabil, and East Azerbaijan provinces.
Efforts included: Distributing essential livelihood items to 5,764 people impacted by floods and snowstorms, Recovering 411 vehicles stuck in snow, Pumping water from 128 residential units. Rescuers also transported 36 people to safety.
Two 9-year-old children lost their lives in Fars and Hormozgan, and a 40-year-old man remains missing in Khuzestan due to flooding.
The Iranian Red Crescent has urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel, crossing snow-covered mountain passes or swollen rivers, heed weather warnings, and call 112 immediately in case of accidents or emergencies.
