Red Crescent set up camps in Southeast to shelter households affected by flooding

TEHRAN, 17 April 2024 (IRCS) - Six other provinces in addition to Sistan and Baluchistan, including Busheher, Khorasan Razavi, Fars, Kerman, Hormozgan and Yazd are experiencing flooding caused by heavy rainfall.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society's aid workers have provided relief services for 1,190 people and have offered emergency shelter to 216 individuals, assisting in pumping water out of 21 homes.

Moreover, the IRCS has distributed relief supplies such as blankets, tents, ground sheets, canned food and food packages to households affected by flooding in these provinces.

The Red Crescent has set up three emergency shelter camps in Jask County, Sistan and Baluchistan, which include 80 tents to provide housing for families affected by the floods. 

The Relief and Rescue Organization of the IRCS has urged the public to refrain from standing in areas prone to flooding.
