IRCS supports more than 46,000 flood-affected individuals in Sistan and Baluchistan

TEHRAN, 23 April 2024 (IRCS) - The Iranian Red Crescent Society is still actively involved in providing relief assistance in the southern parts of Sistan and Baluchistan province that have been impacted by flooding.

Over the past few days, the IRCS has delivered relief aid to 46,815 individuals affected by the floods in 13 different counties of Sistan and Baluchistan, offering emergency shelter to 42 people and transporting 61 others to safety.

To reach villages that have been cut off due to flooding, the Red Crescent has utilized helicopter to deliver relief supplies to 275 villages.

Relief items such as tents, blankets, moquette, plastic sheets, food parcels, canned food, rice, cooking oil, bottled water and beans have been distributed by the IRCS to families affected by the flooding.

One of the main challenges faced in these regions is the blockage and inundation of roads and pathways.
