IRCS Responds to Explosion at Bandar Abbas Port

BANDARABBAS, 26 April 2025 (IRCS) – The Iranian Red Crescent Society ‎‎(IRCS) is providing support to the relief operation following an explosion at ‎Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan Province.‎

The explosion occurred at 12:10 local time on Saturday, April 26. In response, the IRCS immediately deployed nine relief teams to the scene.

Additionally, the IRCS dispatched five relief helicopters to assist in firefighting efforts following a fire that erupted after the container explosion.

So far, the incident has caused injuries to more than 700 individuals and resulted in the deaths of five.
