In Tehran alone, Red Crescent teams rescued 960 people who were found alive beneath the rubble, according to Pir Hossein Kolivand, President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS).
“Three hundred thirty‑nine medical centers, including pharmacies and health facilities; 32 universities; and 875 schools and educational environments were damaged in the airstrikes,” Kolivand added.
He also stated that 20 centers and posts of the Iranian Red Crescent were targeted during the airstrikes.
In total, the Iranian Red Crescent conducted 1,711 rescue and debris‑removal operations during the recent conflict, which began on February 28.
Furthermore, 49 rescue vehicles, 43 ambulances, and one helicopter were damaged as a result of the airstrikes.
To strengthen societal resilience during the war, the Iranian Red Crescent launched the 4030 hotline to provide psychosocial support. Volunteer consultants responded to 160,000 calls.
