The Iranian Red Crescent sent the consignment to Hamedan on Sunday, August 21, with 30 heavy vehicles after Ekbatan dam, the most important source of drinking water in Hamadan city, faced a severe shortage of water reserves.
The Society’s aid workers have been distributing 26,910 bottles of mineral water (70,000 liters of water) to people in deprived areas of Hamedan.
Furthermore, the Red Crescent has sent a consignment of 162,000 liters of mineral water to Hamedan which will arrive in the city by tonight.
Dr. Pir Hossein Kolivand, the President of the Iranian Red Crescent travelled to Hamedan on Sunday to assess the way of providing relief to the city.
