IRCS Relief Caravan dispatched to Borders

TEHAN (IRCS) – The Iranian Red Crescent Society dispatched its health and relief convoy to the borders of the country to support the Arbaeen pilgrims.

During a ceremony which was held in Imam Khomeini shrine in Tehran on August 28, 1,700 aid workers and health forces were dispatched to the relief posts set up on the path of Arbaeen pilgrims to serve the pilgrims taking part in the anniversary of the 40th day of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH).

44,000 of our relief workers, rescuers and health forces will serve the pilgrims. Out of this number, 40,000 aid workers will be deployed in the eastern, northern and western borders, and the rest, which include 2,800 medical personnel and 1,200 rescuers, will be sent to Iraq,” said Dr. Pir Hossein Kolivand, the President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society during the ceremony.
