IRCS Condemns Attack on Aid Facilities, Urges International Action
TEHRAN, 04 April 2026 (IRCS) - The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) and the National Committee for Humanitarian Law (NCHL) of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in their Joint Statement No. 8, condemned the attack on the country’s relief branches, facilities, and personnel, describing it as a blatant violation of the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law and calling for urgent action by the international community.
This statement has referred to the airstrike to the Iranian Red Crescent relief warehouse in Choghadak district in Bushehr County occurred Friday morning, 3 April.
The attack has caused remarkable damage to infrastructure, equipment and operational capacity of the Iranian Red Crescent and has affected seriously the power of responding to urgent needs of injured, according the statement.
The final part of the statement stressed that the emblem of the Red Crescent is an international symbol of support and immunity and infringement upon this emblem and its associated elements constitutes a clear violation of international humanitarian law and undermines the foundations of the protective system for victims of armed conflicts.
