On the occasion of "International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action", a conference entitled "Mine as an Obstacle to Development" was held with the participation of Dr. Seyed Amir Mohsen Ziaee, President of the Iranian Red Crescent, Brigadier-General Ahmad Vahidi Iranian Minister of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics and Dr. Abbas Araghchi, Deputy for Legal and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran at the Iranian Mine Action Centre in Tehran.

In his speech during the conference, Dr. Ziaee highlighted, "Calling the day as International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action indicates the importance of this issue in today's world,"
