During the meeting, the Secretary General of the IFRC highlighted the significance of Iranian Red Crescent Society's capabilities, stating that its accomplishments in domestic and international operations are deeply rooted in these capabilities and have been further strengthened over time.

Mr Chapagain praised the volunteers of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, emphasizing that the Society's success and power can be attributed to the large number of volunteers and the training they receive.

In his part, Yaghoub Soleimani, Secretary General of the Iranian Red Crescent, said that the Society is ready to share its experiences with the IFRC.

“The Iranian Red Crescent is involved in both rescue and relief operations, which gives us valuable operational experiences to exchange with the International Federation and other national Societies,” he said.

Furthermore, in this meeting, Raziyeh Alishvandi, Under Secretary General for International Affairs and International Humanitarian Law division, provided details about the relief and health products manufactured by the Iranian Red Crescent.

“Helal-e Iran Textile Industries, which is affiliated with the Iranian Red Crescent, produces various types of emergency accommodation tents, as well as clothes, backpacks, sleeping bags and other personal supplies for aid workers,” she said.

Ms Alishvandi also mentioned the products of the Medical Procurement Organization, which is affiliated with the Iranian Red Crescent.

She stated that after meeting domestic consumption needs, the Iranian Red Crescent is willing to offer the surplus of its production to the IFRC and other National Societies for humanitarian operations. 

 A delegation of directors from the Iranian Red Crescent Society recently traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to visit the IFRC and ICRC headquarters.   The purpose of their visit was to share and discuss the experiences of the IRCS in different areas with these organizations.
