After heavy rainfall in Sistan and Baluchestan, flooding occurred in 11 counties. Yaghoub Soleimani, the Secretary General of the IRCS, traveled to the province to inspect the areas affected by the flood.
The Iranian Red Crescent continues relief services to the flood-affected people in Sistan and Baluchestan province through two helicopters that transport relief items to hard-to-reach areas, according to Mr Soleimani.
According to Relief and Rescue Organization of the IRCS, there are still families affected by the flood who are unable to receive help and support. However, emergency shelters have been provided to 1,400 households in secure locations.
The Red Crescent provided affected families with items such as blankets, ground sheets, heaters and food parcels.
The Red Crescent relief services have assisted almost 4,578 households in total.
The Iranian Red Crescent dispatched 150 relief teams to the regions of Sistan and Baluchestan province that were hit by flooding. The neighbouring provinces of Kerman and South Khorasan are on alert.
The Red Crescent aid workers not only assessed the impacted villages but also drained water out of the homes and provided aid supplies to flood-affected people.
In Chabahar, there have been numerous floods which has prompted the deployment of two helicopters, although the weather conditions are currently unsuitable for initiating aerial relief efforts.The Red Crescent has established a temporary shelter for families impacted by flooding.
