A Red Crescent helicopter crashed on the evening of October 3rd in the Oshtorankuh mountains, Lorestan province, killing two crew members.
The helicopter had been dispatched on a rescue mission for a missing woman when the incident occurred at an altitude of 2,800 meters.
There were nine individuals on board: four flight crew members and five Iranian Red Crescent rescuers. The pilot, Captain Mohsen Mehrabzadeh, and the flight engineer, Captain Seyyed Hassan Mir Ghazi, lost their lives at the crash site.
According to Ali Mohammadi, Managing Director of the Lorestan Red Crescent provincial branch, one rescuer suffered broken ribs and internal bleeding among the seven injured. The six other injured, while sustaining fractures, are reported to be in good general condition.
Relief teams sent to the scene transferred the injured to medical centers.
