IRCS condemns killing of aid worker and destroying relief facilities

TEHRAN, 10 January 2026 (IRCS) – The Iranian Red Crescent Society ‎‎(IRCS) condemned strongly the ‎killing of an aid worker following the recent ‎unrest in the country.‎

Ali Latifi, a young aid worker in Rasht Red Crescent branch, Gilan, lost his life ‎during the attacks of the rioters on Thursday, 8 January.‎

The Iranian Red Crescent expresses condolences this targedy to the Iranian People, aid workers and volunteers of the Society.

Furthermore, five aid workers were injured in some provinces when the rioters ‎assaulted to relief posts in some provinces. ‎

Furthermore, the rioters demolished some relief posts, relief vehicles and ‎equipment in Khuzestan, Esfahan, Kerman, Markazi, East Azarbaijan and ‎Kohgiluyeh and Buyer Ahmad on 8 and 9 January.‎

The IRCS condemned strongly these acts expressing that destroying relief items, ‎vehicles and devices is meaning do harm the things that ensure the health of the people.
