These drones will be deployed for monitoring, search, and rescue missions.
Speaking at the drone delivery ceremony on Monday, February 9, IRCS President Pir Hossein Kolivand announced additional upgrades to the organization's fleet. "In the near future, new helicopters equipped with advanced technology, including night vision capabilities, will be integrated into our facilities," he announced.
“Drones significantly improve our access to remote and difficult terrain,” Kolivand explained. “Just last week, in Hormozgan province, a drone was used to locate the footprints of a missing person, greatly aiding the search and minimizing suffering. They (drones) enable us to identify, monitor, document, and manage crises more swiftly and accurately, while also enhancing the safety of our rescue teams.”
With a payload capacity of up to 50 kg, the drones can deliver essential supplies.
“This equipment is critical for coastal operations and has reduced drowning incidents by up to 70 percent,” said Babak Mahmoudi, Head of the IRCS Relief and Rescue Organization, at the drone delivery ceremony. “The drones can also be deployed during other weather-related disasters, such as fire extinguishing and landslides, and are capable of night-time flight.”
