IRCS, ARCS Agree to Advance Joint Medical Center Project‎

TEHRAN, YEREVAN, 03 February 2026 (IRCS) – The presidents of the ‎Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) and the Armenian Red Cross Society ‎‎(ARCS) discussed establishing a medical center in Yerevan‏.‏

In a virtual meeting held on Tuesday, February 3, 2025, Pir Hossein Kolivand, President of the Iranian Red Crescent, and Davit Nersisyan, President of the Armenian Red Cross, discussed the establishment of a medical center in Armenia by the Iranian Red Crescent. The project is based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in October 2025.

During the meeting, Mr. Kolivand stated that the Iranian Red Crescent has begun initial activities, such as assessing suggested locations and providing equipment for the clinic.

For his part, Mr. Nersisyan said that the relationship between the two National Societies could serve as a model for others.

They also discussed accelerating the project's progress to equip the center.

According to the meeting, the Iranian Red Crescent will send technicians to Armenia to review the site and plan for the construction of a dialysis ward, an artificial organ production unit, specialist consultation rooms, and other facilities.
