The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) runs an annual drowning prevention campaign each summer. In addition to the rescues, their aid workers provided 8,861 outpatient relief and medical services to the public.

For this summer's campaign in Mazandaran, the IRCS deployed 169 aid workers and rescuers, supported by 1,272 lifeguards.
