The incident occurred around 1:00 AM (local time) on Sunday, August 10.

Following reports of the incident, the Iranian Red Crescent immediately dispatched relief teams to the scene. The teams transported 18 affected pilgrims to Barekat Mobile Hospital for treatment.

Futrhermore, responders successfully performed CPR on one individual during the emergency response.

The leak was caused by a chlorine gas release following a water tank explosion between poles 1180 and 1191.
